He is eminent social reformer in Maharashtra. His father Govindrao Pawar was active in the movement along with ‘Kranti Singh Nana Patil’. Mr. Sampatrao Pawar was born in an environment of anti-government, influence of truth seeker movement and militant caste tradition. As his father was at the forefront of social reform and nation building after independence, he was ingrained in his idealism at an early age. So sacrifice, dedication, selflessness and unceasing action they are cherishing throughout their life.
Mukundarao Kirloskar, G.P.Pradhan, Karmaveer Baba Amte, Shirubhau Limaye, Mohan Dharia, Vasant Bapat, Justice Chandrasekhar Dharmadhikari, Usha Mehta, Medha Patkar, He got the company and guidance of such great thinkers. Therefore, he devoted his life in the fields of movement, awareness, research, drought relief, nature conservation, water conservation, human resource development, youth development. He completed innovative constructive projects like ‘Baliraja Dam’, ‘Kranti Smrutivan’, Baba Amte Tyre Dam and other four dams under Agrani River Revival project without taking any financial help from the government with pure public participation.
M.Gandhi had a great influence on him. In dressing, behaving and speaking in a simple way, he has still preserved the Gandhian thought with all his might. Being honest to Gandhi's thinking, he consciously implemented all the social-oriented thoughts of Gandhi's constructive work in the rural areas. Without accepting any kind of unfair compromise and financial help from the government, he suggested many options for sustainable development through pure public participation and implemented them in rural areas. It opened up new avenues that could transform India completely. Movements, anti-drought fight, awareness, research, constructive and constructive work contributed a lot. He has brought into reality many innovative ideas, concepts essential for the advancement of nature conservation, nation building, patriotism and national integration and spiritual and physical sustainable development of the society.
